Urban Hosts is a programme of events designed to spark conversations and foster practices that shape how we live in and govern cities. Representing the GREENGAGE project, our partner Julia Costa Carneiro from KWMC shared insights from Bristol-based initiatives on fostering neighbourhood change through local relationships, processes, and policies. In her talk, titled “Making Liveable Neighbourhoods Together”, she introduced the GREENGAGE Observatory for the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood as a data-based mediator aimed at re-engaging with local communities. The learning she shared are intended to guide local and national strategies for Liveable Neighbourhood schemes. Julia also detailed the process of establishing GREENGAGE Observatories, starting with low-tech citizen sensing approaches and evolving into co-developing a GREENGAGE citizen sensing app with community participants.
