The Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, in collaboration with ANCI Lazio and the municipalities of the GREENGAGE pilot area in the Turano Valley (Lazio region – Italy), welcomes a Canadian delegation to promote sustainable development in rural villages.
On October 30, 2024, representatives from the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, along with the mayors of Paganico Sabino, Collalto Sabino, and Castel di Tora, will host a delegation of three representatives from Calgary, Canada, as part of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) program funded by the European Union. This visit represents an important opportunity for exchange and collaboration coordinated by ANCI Lazio and Calgary, aimed at promoting sustainable urban development practices in both urban and rural contexts.
During the meeting, participants will focus on key themes related to urban planning, particularly addressing the issue of depopulation in villages. Topics will include nature-based solutions, sustainable agriculture, air quality and mobility. Delegates will also have the opportunity to explore several initiatives carried out through the project “United Villages for Cultural and Social Regeneration of the Turano Valley.” Additionally, the European GREENGAGE project, aligned with the European Green Deal, will be presented, highlighting the commitment to environmental sustainability through participatory processes and citizen science approach.
